The story begins 90 years ago in room 1046 of the Presidential Hotel in Cancer City, USA. On Saturday, January 2, 1935, Roland T. A man named Wayne comes to greet the president of the United States at the hotel. He told the receptionist that he wanted a room for 1 night. He asked the receptionist to give him a lonely room. The receptionist was suspicious but gave her the room as per her wish.
He was given room number 1046. A “bell boy” named Props stopped by to take her things to her room, but she didn’t have much but a toothbrush, a toothpaste, and a comb. But still what can the ‘bell boy’ do? Roland and the “bell boy” used the elevator to go to the 10th floor and opened room 1046.

Roland told props that he was staying at a hotel for 1 night but it was charging too much so he left the hotel and came to this hotel. So the props thanked him for choosing their services and also assured him of good service from them. Roland left his toothbrush, toothpaste and his comb in the bathroom. Props was watching and thought Tere was none of his business, so he asked Roland for permission to leave. Roland allowed her to go but told her to leave the door open as her friends would be visiting her.
The receptionist and bell boy props said Roland was a strange looking person because he had a strange mark on his head and where there was no hair, it looked like he had been hurt. His ears were odd looking and looked like a boxer or wrestler, like he had an injury in that part.
After leaving the props room, a maid named Mary entered the room for cleaning service. But the maid entered the room and found Roland sitting on a chair in the corner, lighting a night lamp and turning off all the lights in the room. Mary told Roland that she would clean the room and after cleaning the room she was also ready to leave at that moment, Roland told her to keep the door open. But Mary could sense that Roland was a bit worried.
Then the clock struck 4, and it was time for Mary to hand out towels to every room on the 10th floor. He again came to room number 1046 and knocked on the door but the door opened as he left it open. So he entered the room without asking anything. As Mary entered the room, she saw that this time Roland was lying on his bed thinking about something. Roland was wearing a coat at the time.
Mary told Roland that she had brought him towels but as he turned towards the bathroom the room’s land line rang and Roland picked up the land line and started talking to a Don. Roland told Don that he had been waiting for him for 15 minutes and to hurry up. Mary heard all the conversation but she did not know who this Don?

The night of January 2, 1935 passed. It was now the morning of 3rd January 1935. As usual the hotel staff was there to clean the room and keep the essentials in the room. Mary was assigned to clean the room number 1046, as usual she went to the room but this time she saw that the room was locked from outside, so she thought that no one was inside the room. So she opened the room with the masterkey to clean, when Mary opened the room she saw that Roland was not there in her room and sitting in the corner with the night lamp on, she was shocked to see Roland.

But he barred the door, as he had to do his work. But from inside a man asked him in a loud and heavy voice “Who is at the door?” Mary replied that she had come to give Roland new towels. So he returned without giving Roland the towel.

In this story came a taxi driver who claimed that he was passing his taxi and saw a strange man on the street wearing only shorts in this cold and he waved the taxi to stop. The lady replied that she had come to meet her client who lived in room 1049. So after he left the elevator, the elevator operator took the elevator back to the ground floor. After 5-6 minutes the lift operator was called again to the 10th floor.

He wondered how the woman got to this place without an elevator?, did she climb the stairs?, if yes, why? When he was about to ask these questions, he saw that the woman was very angry and the woman told the elevator operator that someone was making fun of her, calling her office and saying different rooms and floors, so she wanted to leave the place. Now he came to the ground floor and left the hotel.

On the morning of January 4, the hotel staff realized that the landline in room 1046 had been cut and the others were fine so the bell boy props went to check the landline in room 1046. He reached there and knocked on the door. But no one opened the door. After knocking several times a voice came “Hold on, I’m coming”. So he waited. But no one came from outside so props said that sir you finish your work and connect the landline wire. After saying this he left from there.
Again it was found at the reception that the landline of room no. 1046 is still not connected. So another bell boy was sent to the room and he knocked on the door and no one opened the door but this time he had the master key so he entered the room with the master key.
But on entering the room, he saw a man lying naked on the opposite side and there were many bottles of wine, so he thought that he had fainted from the wine. So he ignored her and repaired the landline. While leaving the room, he saw that the person had some marks on his waist, as if someone had beaten him in that area. He ignored it and left.
But after 15 minutes the reception found that the cables were not connected to the landline again. A bell boy named Randolph was sent to room 1046 to see what was going on. Randolph entered the room to find blood all over the room and Roland had been hit in the head multiple times. His hands and feet were tied. Someone tried to kill him with a wire around his neck. He sees that Roland is still alive and he asks how did this happen to him?, Who did this to you?
Roland replied that no one had done anything to him but that he had done all this. The bell boy realized that he was drunk and passed out. Randolph saw that one side of Roland’s chest had been ripped open and stabbed multiple times with blood coming from it. So Randolph was very scared. Randolph went to the other staff and told everything and the staff asked Roland how it happened to him.
Roland replied that all this happened to him because he slipped in the bathroom. But the workers realized that this was a clear lie because one’s hands or feet are not automatically bound if one slips. After that the police came and investigated and found out that it could not be a suicide as no weapon was found. Later the police collected fingerprints from the room.
There were four fingerprints on the landline, one from Roland and one from a woman. Rowland was admitted to hospital on 4 January 1935 but died the following day. Police have yet to find a suspect or a motive for the murder. So who did this murder? If it is suicide, then how did it happen?

Don was the first suspect, according to the police after hearing Mary’s statement. The police tried to find Don, but unfortunately no one knew who Don was, so he was never caught.
When Roland’s body was being prepared for cremation at the cemetery, everyone thought that Roland had no money so he should be cremated cheaply. At that time a person called and said that Roland’s last cremation should be done in God God manner and he would bear the cost. Everyone thought it was a prank call but on January 21, a large amount of money came in for Roland’s cremature.
A year later a woman named Ruby came forward and said that Roland T. Wayne is his son and his real name is Ardamis. He said he left home in 1934 in search of his job. And he often spoke to Ruby and sent her handwritten letters. His mother Ruby said he was only 17 years old at the time of his death. The most mysterious part is that Roland Ruby still received letters from his son after his death. Even on the day he found out that Roland had died, he received a letter from Roland. But the difference between pre-death and post-death letters is that he sent handwritten letters before death but post-death letters were typed.
The second suspect is the woman who was going to room 1049 and is seen again on the 9th floor. Dawn and the girl may kill Roland together because the woman who lives in room 1048 overhears a couple fighting.
